What People Say about our RIDGEBACKS

He's gone from hunting lions to capturing the hearts of his people

Hi Sarah

Just dropping you an email to tell you that Simba has settled in so very well – you would have thought we had him for ever, he already knows his name, comes when he’s called and sits. I cannot tell you how happy he has made us, he is such a beautiful dog in every single way. He came to his first horse event yesterday and had everyone wrapped around his paws. Nothing fazes him, he’s also a regular feature at my office where he sleeps under my desk on my feet.

Regards Christina .

Hi Sarah you probably do not remember us but we got a RR puppy from you back in 2002. Her show name was Blue Velvet but we called her Sari. Sadly today after 12 loving years we lost our beautiful girl. As you can imagine we are devastated. I just wanted to let you know that she truly had the most gentle and loving nature. We could not have asked for a more perfect furry family member. She will never be forgotten.

Hi Sarah,

We adopted a beautiful Ridgeback from you almost 2 years ago now and I just wanted to email you a small update on how she is doing.

She is Umkimzulu Party In My Cabana and she has become a wonderful and important part of our family. Heres a recent photo of Bonnie taken the other day. She is such a sweet girl and we love spoiling her by taking her to the beach every now and again :)

Thanks Sarah :) She is wonderful !

Regards,

Kellie

We are now calling her Sara (pronounced as last section of Samsara) as Samsara was quite a mouthful and our 2 year old grandson constantly calls her by that name and that is what she responds to immediately. You chose well for us, she is a great mate for our Ridgie, Oscar and a wonderful family member for us 2 legged versions. After a few barks by him to let her know who is boss she doesn’t want to leave his side. She crawls all over him, runs in out of his legs, licks him, etc. They are having a wonderful time. She has so much to do when not resting, lots of games and chasing toys. She was a little perplexed when we were in the backyard which attaches to our paddock where the horses are kept. Once she realised they couldn’t reach her she even gave a little bark at them – rather amusing when you see the size of the other animals. Thank you so much for choosing the right pup for us, she is a beautiful little girl. I’ll forward photos to you in the coming weeks to show you her new home and family.

Thanks again,Judy

Hi Sara,

Hope all is well with your family and extended doggy family as well. Soli is 10 now and getting quite frail, much to my horror. She has gone from being very strong and active to an old lady almost over night or so it seems, I’m hoping that she will last a while longer, as she will leave a huge hole in our family. Sophie is as ever the perpetual puppy!! She is a lovely dog but certainly missed out on brains when they were given out!! Isac is also getting old now, but surprisingly he seems to be doing better than Soli. Bela is naughty as ever but a great dog. Ben and I have 2 kids now, the dogs are great with them. Bela is the best with the kids she lets them climb all over her. Hope all is well best wishes

Hi Sarah,

Hope you and your dogs are doing well. Just thought I would let you know that Diesel is doing well and has seemed to settle in very quickly. He had his 16 week vac yesterday and weighed in at 17kg. He completed puppy school from 9 to 13 weeks, and despite being the youngest by a couple of weeks he did very well.

Thanks again
Ryan

Dear Sarah,
Just a quick note to update you on how Jake is doing.
He has graduated from puppy school, & is enjoying the farm life! He loves helping with the feeding of the horses every am & pm, & accompanies us when we exercise them. He is well known around town now as he goes with me whenever possible! At his last weigh-in at the vets, he was 20kgs.

We just wanted to let you know that we had to bury Savannah today, (you would probably know her as Lionhuntress of your dog Lenska born on 14 Feb 1999). What a wonderful family member she was and so sad to have to let her go, many tears were shed by us all. 12 ¾ years of love and loyalty I don’t know how you cope with the loss on a more regular basis. Born Valentines day, passed away Remembrance day – a hard dog to forget.

Regards

Martin & Leah Hess

Sarah Hi -

I wish to advise that our beautiful Lexus as you called her was put to sleep on the .9.07.07.... the saddest day of my life - She had Cardiac Pulmonary failure - At the very end - One hour before she left us she barked at my partner David coming in the door, one hour before I cuddled her to sleep, She was still caring for me and this house being so ill I miss her so badly. Every day! She never was in a boarding kennel one day of her life - and she didn't spendght in the cold ever she lived inside in her own bedroom and she meant more than any other human being on this planet I have her ashes - and memories and photos - will attach or two - you will be proud Sarah - are you breeding still? - What is the likehood of a pup - I want the Beautiful African girl that you breed You know I am a good carer of your babies I have just brought a 2.5 acre property - even more room than here.... quite rural and prepared to fly I pup over - You know I am a good owner and you surely can trust me with another. Hi Sara,

I've been meaning to contact you earlier but my computer broke down and it took a while to get it hooked back up to the internet. Anyway, Rebbie is doing fine. She is so pretty (one of the prettiest dogs we've seen yet!) She just had her check-up at the Vet yesterday and she's 38 lbs. Thankyou so much for our two beautiful dogs . Ryno and Rebbie Thanks,Ronelle Hawaai

Hi Sarah,

Just a quick note to say how happy we are to have Matilda, she is a lovely family dog, Paddy loves her to bits and she has shown no signs of aggression towards him. She lets him lie all over her and play with her ears. She is great. Thanks again, Maree Mitchell

Hi Sarah, Just thought I would send you quick note to let you know that Tafaree is doing extremely well. Everybody ( all of my friends & family) loves him. He has become my shadow and comes visiting with me all the time. He loves the car. He knows tho! that he doesn't come in the mornings when I go to work but soon as I head for the car in the afternoon he is right there. He loves Nathan (my 17year old) Michelle.

Hi Sarah,

My name is Janine Simpson and in 2002 when you lived in Perth I bought a beautiful girl off you called Umkimzulu Diamonds ‘N’ Gold. We named her Kiara and originally she was a birthday present for my son as I already had a much older ridgeback called “Tara” (she was from Sue Cartwright in Darlington whom you knew of at the time and had past away). Kiara soon became my dog as well and we did everything together, in fact the boys used to call her my shadow. Unfortunately recently she unexpectedly past away which has left us all totally devastated. Normally I’m a phone person and love talking but I decided to email you because it is just too hard to talk at this stage and I knew I wouldn’t be able to explain it all to you. Kia like Tara had a beautiful black nose and muzzle and were both big girls, no short legs here. . They are the only type of ridgeback I have had and I just can’t bring myself to look at any other type of dog. I know how popular your dogs are and I see that you breed liver nose ones as well now. Can you tell me if you will be breeding any more pups like this and if so when. Have looked at the website for dogs in WA but Kia was perfect so I’m happy to travel and collect the pup. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Kia had a wonderful life we live on 66 acres in Gidgegannup and she loved all that space, I know I spoilt her lots and my son always said “when I die I want to come back as Kia”. We love her heaps and it is so hard to lose your shadow after so long, I just hope you may be able to help us. Kind regards Janine Simpson and family

Hi Sarah, You probably don't remember me, but I bought a beautiful dog from you a few years ago - Jake (21/11/04 - Umkimzulu Heartothwarior). I decided to look you up on the web today, so hope this email address is still current and gets to you! Jake is a loved member of our family, and he is brilliant with my children Alex (almost 3) and Isabella (7mths).. It's true what they say about not wanting any other dog breed once you have had a ridgeback! The reason for my email is to ask about getting another puppy at some stage? (we are now based in Beaudesert, QLD). We aren't in a hurry, just on the look out for a friend for Jake. I would love to hear from you. Sasha Oehm (nee Folley)
